This is located in the Victor Hugo market, on the upper level. My friends and I love all of our dishes. The 3-course menu was pretty affordable if luxurious for lunch. We all ordered different dishes and were able to try each other's dishes.
The place was packed but the servers were kind and took the time to explain to us, and they were very friendly. -

My favorite meal in France on my last trip there.
We decided to have lunch "somewhere" in the Victor Hugo Market. After the unique experience of walking the narrow corridor through the different restaurants on the upper level (which divided the kitchens from the dining areas of these connected restaurants), we decided on this restaurant at the end. All the restaurants looked busy with patrons and had enticing, well priced menus of the day, but I think Au Bon Graillou looked a tiny bit more popular, had cute little dishes, and perhaps, just maybe, we were too lazy to walk through to the other restaurants again. At any rate, as you can tell from my opening sentence, it was a great choice!
I had the gascon salad, a rich but not too heavy starter with foie gras, duck breast, turkey gizzards, and an amazing onion chutney. My main dish was this gorgeous grilled plate of whole sardines. I saw at least one envious look my way when I was served. For dessert, I had the raspberry pie. It was okay, but next time I would try something else.
Service was friendly and our waiter spoke English in addition to French and Spanish.
I would definitely return and eat the salad and sardines again. -

What a good restaurant! Quality was there, quantity was there! It was affordable and the service was nice and accomodating!
The only small comment to improve would be on the pricing structure which a bit strange, and which definitely push you to take the 3-course menu!
Great experience overall!
